About Sub-Zero Repair Deerwood

A spec-driven repair practice built around two things the gated Southside actually needs: board-level diagnosis and a schedule that respects the gate.

Sub-Zero Repair Deerwood is an independent repair organization — not factory service — covering Deerwood, Pablo Creek Reserve, Glen Kernan, and Queen's Harbour in ZIPs 32256, 32224, and 32225. We diagnose BI and PRO series built-ins board-level, quote in writing, and log gate access at booking. Direct line (904) 893-3248.

What this organization is

An independent Sub-Zero® repair practice for Jacksonville's Southside corridor, focused on the built-in refrigeration that fills its gated kitchens.

The approach is plain: measure before replacing, write down the finding, quote before the work, and respect the way these neighborhoods run. The corridor is dense with high-end equipment — PRO 48 dual-compressor units in Pablo Creek Reserve, BI columns and side-by-sides across Glen Kernan and Hampton Park, legacy 500 and 600-series boxes still running in original Deerwood Country Club kitchens. That installed base rewards a technician who knows which revision a serial number points to and which part actually crosses between generations.

It also rewards honesty about scope. We are not affiliated with Sub-Zero Group, Inc., and we do not claim to be factory-certified. For equipment still under factory warranty — the 2022-and-newer CL, DET, and DEC generation — we say so and route you to Factory Certified Service first. What we own is the out-of-warranty work, the second opinions, and the preventive maintenance a warranty never covered.

How we work, in four standards

The standards every Southside service call is held to.
Standard What it means on a visit
Measure, don't guess Metered electrical checks and a read frost pattern — not part-swapping
Quote in writing Component, part class, and fixed parts-and-labor figure before a panel opens
Respect the gate Visitor authorization and guardhouse procedure logged at booking
Verify the repair Checked against 38°F / 0°F set points after the 24-hour stabilization window

Those standards exist because the corridor's three local hazards — Northeast Florida's lightning load, JEA water at 14–28 grains, and the salt air that reaches even Queen's Harbour's freshwater-lagoon streets — each map to a documented Sub-Zero failure mode. A practice that knows the local causes diagnoses faster than one applying a generic checklist. See the BI & PRO model index for the equipment we document, or the surge protection note for the failure we most want to prevent.

About the organization

Are you affiliated with Sub-Zero or its factory service?
No. We are an independent repair organization with no affiliation to Sub-Zero Group, Inc.; we use the model designations only to identify the equipment we service. The Florida Factory Certified Service company is a separate entity. For units still under factory warranty — the 2022-and-newer CL, DET, and DEC generation — we point you to that door first.
What makes your diagnostics "board-level"?
We meter the electronics instead of swapping parts on a hunch. Evaporator fan amperage, thermistor resistance against a reference, condenser-fan triac outputs, board memory state — each is measured, and the finding is written down with a fixed quote before any panel comes off. On a built-in worth five figures, guess-and-swap is how owners pay twice.
Why focus on the Southside corridor instead of all of Jacksonville?
A tight radius keeps drive time short and gate procedures on file. Deerwood, Pablo Creek Reserve, Glen Kernan, and Queen's Harbour share housing-stock age, equipment, water, and storm exposure, so the deeper we go on those specifics, the better the diagnosis. Coverage at the margins is fine; the focus is deliberate.
Do you work on older units, or only newer BI and PRO models?
Both. The corridor runs everything from legacy 500 and 600-series boxes in original Deerwood kitchens to current columns. We confirm the exact revision from the serial plate before ordering, because Sub-Zero revised these parts dozens of times and a board or fan that fits one model may not fit its sibling.
